We also encourage students to apply for government scholarship. PTSCAS Scholarship Program has two sub-types, merit-based and need-based.
- Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs).
This type of government scholarship is merit-based and need-based.

StuFAPs are programs funded by the government that are intended to provide full or partial financial support for the education of qualified students.
What are the kinds of StuFAPs?
- Scholarship – a form of financial support given to qualified students based on merit or talent: extraordinary academic performance, special technical capability, and skills in the field of research and development (R&D), innovation and other creative work.
- Grant-in-Aid – requires a minimum level of capacity from poor but qualified students so they could finish tertiary education.
- Student Loan - consists of short or long term loans to students who are short of cash, regardless of their economic status during the time of enrolment. The student is (or his parents, guardians or co-makers) expected to pay the loan when they become gainfully employed. The top 10 graduates of public high schools are prioritized in this program.
Who are qualified to avail?
- Enrolling or continuing student in TVET, associate program, undergraduate (college) degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree.
- Possesses good moral character with no criminal record
- Filipino citizens (with special preference to students who are underprivileged, PWDs, solo parents, dependents of solo parents, Senior citizens)
- Foreign students of countries that provide student exchange programs and reciprocal or mutual scholarships for Filipino students.
What is/are covered? How much is provided?
Depending on the kind, an StuFAP may cover any or all of the following:
- Tuition fees
- Miscellaneous and other school fees
- Educational expenses
- Cost of living allowance (COLA)
How to apply?
- Download the Application Form from CHED UniFAST website and accomplish completely.
- Prepare and compile all supporting documents as listed.
- Submit application and requirements in person at the designated government offices:
- Scholarships and grants are processed mainly at CHED/TESDA. They can also be availed through other government departments such as DOST, DOLE, & DSWD.
- Loans are processed only by CHED and Government Financing Institutions (LBP, DBP, GSIS, and SSS)
2. CHED UniFAST Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES).
TES is a government funded scholarship with fixed subsidy amount that is distributed on an annual basis to undergraduate students enrolled in Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs).
Who are qualified to avail?
Students must possess all qualifications below:
- Filipino students (with special preference to students who are part of households included in DSWDs Listahan 2.0 or who are ranked as poor or near-poor by NHTS based on estimated per capita household income)
- Students who are currently enrolled in a CHED-UniFAST listed program.
- Students who are still within the maximum residency rule of the PHEI.
What is/are covered? How much is provided?
TES gives a total of PHP 60,000 subsidy for the whole academic year; of which “n” portion is allotted for Tuition and School fees and the other “n” portion is allotted for educational expenses such as board, lodging, books, licensure exam costs, transportation, etc. Students who are PWDs are given additional PHP 30,000.
How to apply?
- The PHEI shall submit the list of all enrolled students during the annual application period (third Quarter of every year).
- CHED-UniFAST shall validate and verify through the lists of DSWD & NHST.
- CHED-UniFASt shall notify the PHEI regarding who are the students who qualified. These students shall submit the required supporting documents.
